When my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer it was the art in the hospitals that I believe gave her a respite from her appointments. It was the art that gave her a chance to focus on beauty and allowed to focus on beauty instead of cancer. I believe art played a big part in her remission. I have a very personal connection to giving people a bridge to focus on healing and I believe that is what art provides.
About the process
The work is created by starting with a focus on energy as a positive force. The mark making with paint explores that healing energy. The brushwork is then scanned and digitized and layered to create a multi-faceted abstract. In addition to the art a QR code can be placed next to the artwork to allow viewers to connect further with the work through augmented animation. Because of the process of this work it is also scalable and has the potential to expand beyond the paper parameters and be printed to encompass entire walls. The virtual animation is viewable at any scale.
